General Service Officer (Mowing / Grounds Maintenance)

Shift Hours: Morning Shift – Starting at 6:30 AM

Pay Rate: $43.00+ per hour (plus applicable penalties/superannuation)

Position Overview

We are currently seeking 2x experienced General Service Officers for a short-term / ongoing contract with the ACT Government based in Kambah. In this role, you will be responsible for general outdoor maintenance and groundskeeping tasks, with a primary focus on mowing and turf care across public facilities and spaces.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate commercial mowing equipment (ride-on and push mowers) safely and efficiently.

• Perform grounds maintenance tasks, including brush cutting, line trimming, weeding, and general site clean-up.

• Carry out routine daily maintenance and safety checks on all tools and equipment.

• Adhere strictly to ACT Government Work Health and Safety (WHS) policies and procedures.

• Work collaboratively within a team to maintain high presentation standards across designated sites.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Police Clearance: Current, valid National Police Check (Mandatory).

• Experience: Proven experience in commercial mowing, turf care, or general groundskeeping.

• Licence: Valid Drivers Licence (Manual preferred for site vehicles).

• Availability: Able to commit to a 6:30 AM start Monday-Friday

• Punctuality & Reliability: Strong work ethic with demonstrated reliability and physical fitness for outdoor labor.
